Release Day Mini Reviews – January 8th, 2019

I decided to start this thing where I post a collection of mini-reviews for books I’ve had the privilege of reading early on the day that they all come out, and this is the first one. I hope you enjoy!

The Wicked King by Holly Black

My thoughts:

  • 5/5 stars
  • so m u c h tension
  • political intrigue
  • all the betrayal
  • I love this series
  • if you loved the first one, definitely read this one

Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus

My thoughts:

  • 2/5 stars
  • better than one of us is lying
  • that’s not really saying much I hated one of us is lying
  • the last sentence is a little thrilling
  • I was just rather bored the whole time

Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole

My thoughts:

  • 5/5 stars
  • just as wonderful as the cover promises
  • so romantic, so sexy
  • if you’re not reading this series already, get on it??
  • I just really love Likotsi and Fabiola
  • here‘s my post for the blog tour featuring an excerpt

Slayer by Kiersten White

My thoughts:

  • 3.5/5 stars
  • if you’re just looking for a fun time, read this
  • tons of diverse side characters
  • I haven’t watched buffy the vampire slayer, but this made me want to watch it

The Girl King by Mimi Yu

My thoughts:

  • 2/5 stars
  • I just didn’t enjoy this
  • I got zero sibling feels from this
  • I just didn’t care
  • there also was a concerning scene with an attempted rape that just should have been cut

I hope you enjoyed, and happiest of reading to all of you!
